The Fatihah (The Opening or Al-Hamd)

Bismi-l-Lahi Rahmani-r-Raheem

Al-Hamdu li-l-lahi Rabbi-l-ala-meen

Maliki yawmi-d-Deen

Iyyaka na’budu wa lyyaka nasta’een

Sirata-l-ladheena an’amta ‘alayhim

Ghayri-l-maghdubi ‘alahim

Wa la-d-dalleen (Ameen)

This may be interpreted as follows:
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise  be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds,
            Most Gracious, Most Merciful,
Master of the Day of Judgement.
You do we worship; and Your aid we seek.
            Show us the straight Way,
The way of those on  whom You have bestowed Your Grace,
Those whose (portion) is not wrath and who go not astray.
